Kids' Summer Reading

Stop the summer slide and rock out to our events and summer reading program! 

When does the Kids' Summer Reading program start?

Signups start on June 18th. The program begins June 25th.

How do I sign up?

You can easily sign up children ages 2 to entering fifth grade online here.  You can also sign up in our library's children's department, or at the Summer Reading Sock Hop kick-off event on Friday, June 22. 

What do I have to do?

Beginning June 25th,  Spin the prize wheel one time for every two hours your child reads or is read to and receive a prize basket ticket entry. Earn extra ticket entries for our prize baskets by completing gameboard activities and voting in our book bracket each week starting July 1.

Children age 2-entering 1st (read to 10-15 min daily)

  • 120 minutes (2 hours)- chance to spin prize wheel and ticket entry for prize basket

  • 240 minutes (4 hours)-- chance to spin prize wheel and ticket entry for prize basket

  • 360 minutes (6 hours)-- chance to spin prize wheel and ticket entry for prize basket

  • 480 minutes (8 hours)-- choice of free book

  • Each additional 2 hours--- chance to spin prize wheel and ticket entry for prize basket

Children entering 2nd-5th (read 15 min daily)

  • 120 minutes (2 hours)- chance to spin prize wheel and ticket entry for prize basket

  • 240 minutes (4 hours)-- chance to spin prize wheel and ticket entry for prize basket

  • 360 minutes (6 hours)-- chance to spin prize wheel and ticket entry for prize basket

  • 480 minutes (8 hours)-- chance to spin prize wheel and ticket entry for prize basket

  • 600 minutes (10 hours)-- choice of free book

  • Each additional 2 hours--- chance to spin prize wheel and ticket entry for prize basket
