Circulation Desk Assistant

Applications are being accepted for a part time summer position at the circulation desk.

Ten hours per week for ten weeks.


  • Check material in and out.  
  • Sort materials and shelve books.

Youth Services Summer staff (Part-time)

  • Up to 30 hours per week for 10 weeks (June 12  - August 19)

  • Alternate Saturdays required

  • $8.50 per hour

Qualifications: High school diploma, ability to work with minimal direction.

Applicants with previous library experience will be highly considered.

Accountability: Responsible to the Head of Youth Services


  • Registers children for summer programs and Summer Reading Club

  • Supervises activities held at the library

  • Aids in summer activities and programming

  • Trains and works with teen summer volunteers

    • Supervises teens during library events on and offsite.

    • Manages teen volunteers during programming/shelving hours

  • Shelves materials when necessary

  • Assists patrons with reader’s advisory

  • Comfortable with technology such as Microsoft Office Suite.

    • Create craft kits for patrons to take home

    • Create library educational activities for Summer Reading Club

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. minimum

  • Ability to stoop, stand, and kneel

  • Ability to sustain mental and physical activity for up to 3 hours

  • Satisfactory completion of a criminal history, child abuse screening, and FBI fingerprinting prior to employment and every three years thereafter is required.
