The Parkland Community Library seeks an energetic, enthusiastic and creative candidate to add to their staff in the position of Library Assistant
The ideal candidate will be skilled at planning and executing storytimes and events for children ages school age to teen and willing to assist with furthering the library’s mission and strategic plan. The Youth Services Department at Parkland
Library serves youth from birth through age 18 and their parents.
15 hours per week
Days and times can be negotiated.
Experience working with children and teens as well as familiarity with libraries
Knowledge and appreciation of children’s and teen's literature
Reports to the Head of Youth Services
Helps plan and execute children's events, teens' events and summer programs
Helps with youth displays
Assists with collection maintenance through shelf reading and weeding
Supervises teen volunteers when they are in the library
Assists in maintaining Youth Services’ circulating kits
Other duties as assigned
