Celebrate Lunar New Year

Year of the Tiger

The Chinese New Year celebration begins on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. The Lunar New Year is observed yearly following the lunar cycles at the second new moon following the Winter Solstice. It is time for the Spring Festival, which coincides with the start of longer days, shorter nights, and the long-awaited spring!

The Year of the Tiger will be about making big changes, a year of risk-taking and adventure. We’re finding enthusiasm again, both for ourselves and others with heightened generosity, and social progress feels possible again.

This year, your library is offering free Mandarin language and culture lessons for children ages 5-11. Don’t forget to pick-up a Take & Make Kit as well!
