How (and What) to Donate to the Library

How can you donate to the Library? It's a popular question. The answer depends on what you want to donate. We cannot guarantee that materials will be added to our collection. Items not added to our collection may be sold at the Friends of the Library Used Book Sales.

Book Donation Dropoffs

Will only be accepted by The Friends of the Library in conjunction with their book sales. Check the Friends page for drop-off dates and locations.

What We Accept

Accepting donations of new, gently used or rare books: hardcover and paperback books, games, video games, puzzles, CDs and DVDs.

Materials for Our History Collections

We welcome the donation of rare and unique materials. Please contact Executive Director Debbie Jack at jackd@parklandlibrary.org or at 610.398.1361 x22.

What We Cannot Accept

Broken or damaged items will not be accepted. Please, no magazines, Reader's Digests, encyclopedias, textbooks, law books, or formats we don't circulate like cassette tapes, VHS, and records.

Are You a Local Author?

Donated books are subject to the same selection criteria as books the Library purchases for the collection. Materials that are not selected will be sent to the Friends of the Parkland Community Library for use in its semiannual book sales.
