COVID-19 Guidelines for Visiting An LCLC Library

8/11/21: Parkland Community Library is now requiring masks regardless of vaccination status for everyone aged 2 and up. Lehigh County is now in a high transmission area of COVID-19 B.1.617.2 (Delta) variant. In response to keeping our community safe, PCL requires masks to be worn inside the library, and worn during all indoor library programs on or offsite.

A new CDC study supports previous findings that B.1.617.2 (Delta) is highly contagious, and is contributing to an increase in cases, including those with severe outcomes and those due to vaccine breakthrough infections. While vaccinated people can still develop COVID-19, they are far less likely to get severely sick or die than unvaccinated people. Read more on the CDC’s website.

CURBSIDE PICK-UP IS AVAILABLE for those who cannot wear a mask, and for anyone else who would like to use
this service. If you need a mask, please request one at the circulation desk. Thank you for your cooperation!

  • Masks and/or face coverings are required for all ages 2 and up. Please have them in place while on library grounds and during all library programs on or offsite.
  • Maintain social distancing by putting space (at least 6 feet) between yourself and others.
  • Patrons should sanitize their hands upon arrival at the library.
  • For the safety of all, we ask that people who feel ill, do not come inside. Patrons who are visibly sick or
  • coughing/sneezing excessively will be asked to leave.
  • Patrons that have tested positive for COVID-19, are waiting for COVID-19 test results, have COVID-19 symptoms, or have had close contact with a person who has tested positive for or who has symptoms of COVID-19, are not to visit the library or attend in-person programs and should chose online programs, when available.

The Parkland Community Library is following guidance from the Office of Commonwealth Libraries, which states that libraries can issue policies for use of local facilities as determined by county, municipal, or library decisions.

Thank you for helping to keep our communities safe!
