Friends of the Parkland Community Library (FPCL): About

What is FPCL?

The Friends of the Parkland Community Library (FPCL) group is a nonprofit organization that supports the library in countless, meaningful ways! These ways include, but definitely aren’t limited to, providing materials to the library, participating in community outreach initiatives and projects, and providing financial support for both public programming and staff development opportunities.

Thanks to FPCL, the library is able to offer complimentary copies of BookPage, a monthly book review publication, to patrons. The library is also able to offer patrons access to a state-of-the-art, all-in-one printer in our Tech Center thanks to on-going support from Friends!

How Are Funds Raised?

FPCL raises funds to support their work by organizing events such porch sales, dinners, and their hugely successful Annual Used Book Sale. They also have great fundraisers throughout the year and operate a year-round book sale in the library’s front alcove. Can I Become a Friend?

Absolutely! Whether you are a business, family, or an individual, you can make a difference in your community by becoming a Friend of the Parkland Community Library. Joining is easy! First, click here to access the necessary membership form, then print it, fill-it-out, and bring it to the library with your dues payable to FPCL. (Please click here to see when the library is open.) You can also mail the form and your dues to the address located at the bottom of the form.

When and Where Are Meetings Held?

Meetings are held in the library’s Community Room and are scheduled and announced to all Friends in advance. They’re typically held monthly on Thursdays at 2pm.

Can I Volunteer to Help FPCL?

FPCL welcomes new volunteers to become involved in their activities! Opportunities include working at different events, helping with fundraising, publicity, and programming, and/or becoming a committee chair. When you volunteer your time and talents, you can make a valuable contribution to the Parkland Community Library and your community!
