Parkland Art League once again displays art at Parkland Community Library.

Art at Parkland Community Library

After a decade-long hiatus, the Parkland Art League has returned to display art at the library. The library had to discontinue the partnership years ago when, short on space, it needed every wall for bookshelves. Fortunately, the library was finally able to expand recently and now has some free wall space near its new meeting room.

“The library is excited about renewing our partnership with local artists in the community,” said Executive Director Maryellen Kanarr.

Linda Kreckel is the first featured artist. Her art will be displayed from April 18th through June 27th. To view it online, visit their webpage.

The Parkland Art League will rotate artist displays every two months. The public is welcome to view the gallery of about 15 art pieces anytime the library is open, currently Monday through Thursday, 9 am—9 pm, Friday, 9 am—6 pm, and Saturday, 9 am—5 pm. Sales of artwork can be completed by contacting the artist directly.

The library is one of several local exhibits, including Kalmbach, Lower Macungie Library, Luther Crest, and Stony Run.

The Parkland Art League is a group of over 80 artists whose objectives are to encourage friendship among persons interested in art, awaken and sustain their interest in art, and exhibit our members’ art. In addition, they offer the public the opportunity to purchase original art. Members are provided opportunities to advance their skills by offering a lending library of instructional DVDs, having exceptional artist demonstrators at monthly meetings, and hosting workshops taught by artists who excel in their craft.
