Seed Library

Attention all library patrons! This year, we are adding an exciting new service: the Seed Library!

With your library card, you can get up to three free seed packets per checkout. From artichokes to zucchinis, we have a wide variety of seeds available. Unlike books or DVDs that need to be returned, the seed packets are yours to keep! Thanks to a starter donation from Sow Right Seeds, we can offer this wonderful new service.

April 2024 Update

Thanks to Burpee’s generous donation, we have a fresh new set of seeds for our patrons to “check out.” The new seed packets are local to PA. We have sunflowers, an assortment of lettuce varieties, and more! Enjoy!

Thank you, Burpee, for the restock!

Location

The seed library is on top of the games and puzzles drawers near the DVDs. You can select up to three packets and take them to the front desk for checkout. However, quantities are limited, so be sure to stop in soon to get yours. We will update the collection in the future, so check back to see how you can update your garden.

Accepting Donations

If you’d like to contribute to the seed library, there are a couple of ways you can help. You can donate gift cards to the library to purchase more seeds or drop off extra unopened seed packets you may have left over from your previous gardening endeavors.

Also, when it’s time to harvest, you can ‘give back’ by dropping off your extra produce at the library once a week with Plant A Row Lehigh Valley!

With Plant A Row Lehigh Valley

You can drop off your extra produce at the library once a week starting in June. Plant A Row Lehigh Valley will pick it up and distribute it to area residents in need. Look for more details in the summer!
