Interlibrary Loans (ILLs)
The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service is available to all Parkland Community Library cardholders who reside in the Parkland School District. It is an invaluable service available to patrons thanks to our agreement with POWER Library.
Policies & Procedures
An ILL request can be placed on items that are not owned by the Parkland Community Library and are unavailable from one of the participating Lehigh Carbon Library Cooperative (LCLC) libraries. Items released within the last six months cannot be requested. A patron in good standing can have up to three open requests at one time.
Requests can take up to three weeks to arrive if filled, though they typically arrive within 7 to 14 days. Please note, we cannot guarantee a request will be filled as it depends on the availability and resource-sharing policies of the owning libraries.
If the request has been filled, you will receive a notice via your preferred contact method when it’s available to be picked up. We are not responsible for missed notices due to spam filters, incorrect contact information, or lack of voicemail.
Requested items will be held at the Reference Desk for four business days after you have been contacted. If you are unable to pick up your item within the hold period, please contact the Reference Desk using the method listed below. Items that are not picked up by the patron prior to the end of the hold period will be billed a $3.00 fine.
ILL items may be checked out for three weeks. Unfortunately, ILLs may not be renewed. Borrowed items can be returned at the Circulation Desk or in one of our book drops after hours. Overdue ILL items will be assessed a $.25 per day late fee.
For ILL questions, please contact the Reference Desk by phone at (610) 398-1361 ext. 106 or via email at info@parklandlibrary.org.
