Interlibrary Loans (ILLs)
The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service is available to all Parkland Community Library cardholders who reside in the Parkland School District. It is an invaluable service available to patrons thanks to our agreement with POWER Library.
Policies & Procedures
An ILL request can be placed on items not owned by the Parkland Community Library and unavailable from one of the participating Lehigh Carbon Library Cooperative (LCLC) libraries. Items released within the last 12 months cannot be requested. A patron in good standing can have up to three open requests at one time.
Requests can take up to three weeks to arrive if filled, though they typically arrive within 7 to 14 days. Please note we cannot guarantee a request will be filled as it depends on the availability and resource-sharing policies of the owning libraries.
If the request has been filled, you will receive a notice via your preferred contact method when it’s available to be picked up. We are not responsible for missed notices due to spam filters, incorrect contact information, or lack of voicemail.
Requested items will be held at the Reference Desk for four business days after you have been contacted. If you cannot pick up your item within the hold period, contact the Reference Desk using the below methods.
Fines:
ILLs must be picked up within four days, or patrons will be charged a $3 service fee.
Late Fees:
Overdue ILL items will be assessed a $1.00 per day late fee. These items come from outside our fine-free service area.
ILL items will be checked out for three weeks. Borrowed items should be returned at the Parkland’s Circulation Desk or in one of our book drops after hours.
Note: These items cannot be renewed.
Questions:
For ILL questions, don’t hesitate to contact the Reference Desk at (610) 398-1361 ext. 106 or email info@parklandlibrary.org.
