Parkland Community Library continues to partner with our local food pantry, Parkland CARES. We will continue to collect food donations for those in need.

With their help, we established a permanent donation bin in our front entryway for patrons to place items. This greatly benefits the food pantry since donations can now be accepted during the library’s hours at your convenience. We also have a dedicated volunteer who comes once a week to deliver the donations directly to the food pantry.

Approximately 27% of the Parkland community is currently food insecure, and we are proud to assist the food pantry with its mission to end hunger in our community.

Little Free Pantry

The Little Free Pantry at PCL is located next to the book drop-in at the back of the building! The concept is simple – Take what you need, leave what you can. Every one of us needs just a little help now and then.

All pantry items must be:

  1. Shelf-stable (non-perishable)
  2. Sealed
  3. Able to withstand high temperatures

Little Free Pantry Donation Rules

Please adhere to the following guidelines about donations and drop-offs:

  1. We accept only non-perishable or dry goods, i.e., boxed, canned, and bagged goods.
  2. Do not leave expired items.
  3. Do not leave fresh fruit, vegetables, dairy, eggs, or meat. We will be forced to discard any fresh foods found.
  4. Do not leave any non-food items at the Pantry.
  5. If the Pantry is already full, do not leave donations on the ground surrounding the pantry.
  6. If the pantry is full, please return again with your donations.

Thank you for your continuing support and generosity!
