Assistive Technology, translator pen: This scanning pen has a 3.5-inch touch screen display and a speaker. It can help users overcome language barriers while traveling overseas.

Bilingual Books:

Search our catalog for world language DVDs and other materials. We also have bilingual picture books in our children’s collection, denoted by a Spanish sticker.

Parkland Community Library was awarded the $5000 Excellent and Equitable Youth Services Grant. This grant provides funds to evaluate and curate inclusive youth collections that reflect and serve the unique needs of youth ages birth to 18. 

This project was partly made possible by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, which is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Office of Commonwealth Libraries.

Please note these limits for hoopla: patrons can have up to five monthly borrows. Items listed as “bonus borrows” do not count toward the monthly limit. This resource is only available to Parkland School District residents.

Kanopy is the top video streaming service for high-quality, thoughtful entertainment.
Catalog Ticketing System: Users get 25 tickets each month to borrow items. The number of tickets required per item varies.

hoopla digital app offers ebooks and e-audiobooks in 115 world languages for free with your library card. Offering materials in languages other than English is a great way to engage patrons. hoopla is proud to help with a broad selection of popular audiobooks narrated in Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Chinese.

The Kanopy app makes it easy to stream videos, including a superb selection of world cinema and 417 videos in ESL and other languages, offering an excellent resource for learners and movie enthusiasts alike.
