TeenTober
TeenTober is an initiative from the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) that encourages teens to visit their library in October to discover media in all forms, technology, games, STEAM activities, and more. This nationwide celebration hosted by libraries aims to celebrate teens, promote year-round teen services, and the innovative ways we help teens learn new skills and fuel their passions in and outside the library. Check Out Our Booklists!
Teens are encouraged to get their own library card to connect, discover, and grow!
With 90,000 items in our collection alone, you are bound to find something that speaks to you!
Join The Lehigh Carbon Library Cooperative
What is the LCLC? Together, local libraries have joined forces, and we all share one library card and catalog, expanding the collection to over 550,000 items. Place holds on items in one of our sister libraries and have it shipped, free of charge, to PCL.

Fine Free
Bogged down with exams? We understand. Parkland Community Library and our sister libraries in the Lehigh Carbon Library Cooperative (LCLC) are no longer charging late fees for overdue books and select materials.
Exceptions apply.

History
TeenTober replaces YALSA’s previous Teen Read Week™ and Teen Tech Week™ celebrations, allowing libraries the flexibility to choose what to celebrate (digital literacy, reading, technology, writing, etc.) and the length of time for each celebration.
