Parkland Community Library is a non-profit organization administered by a Library Director and governed by a Board of Directors. The library serves the Parkland School District, encompassing North Whitehall Township, South Whitehall Township, and Upper Macungie Township.

Multi-District Lehigh Valley Pocono Partnership Expanded Resource Sharing
1.5 Million Items at your Fingertips!
The Lehigh Carbon Library Cooperative (LCLC) joined a partnership with the Lehigh Valley Library System and several libraries in Monroe County. This partnership opens up a catalog of over 1.5 million items with one shared library card and catalog! Search, select, and pick up items at your home LCLC library (some restrictions may apply).

Programming and Events
Our programs and events are free unless otherwise stated. PCL strives to provide health, financial, environmental, business, social, and technology education with the support of PA Forward Star Programming. We hope that through programming, we will link people to services, provide social support, and even help our patrons find a creative outlet that can benefit daily life. The LCLC Is Fine Free
Parkland Community Library and the LCLC are now Fine Free! Patrons will no longer be charged late fees on most overdue materials. Exceptions Apply.

The library’s catalog has become more social! Users can write reviews, access ratings, and see what others think before placing a hold on an item. Create booklists to share and follow other patrons.

Catalog Questions, eResources, and Placing Holds
We help you find what you are looking for! We can search for the title you want in a format you prefer, recommend books, and place holds or interlibrary loans (ILLs). We’ll also guide you through our online resources, get started with eBooks, and assist with research questions.

Try out Playaways, an all-in-one, pre-loaded audiobook. It’s easy to use in the car with headphones and speakers. We now carry FM Transmitters. Read more here.

Borrow A Thing
The Library of Things is PCL’s newest unique collection of gadgets, electronics, and non-traditional items for patrons to borrow.

Job seekers can borrow a laptop for free with their library card and access online career tools.

Accessibility
People of all abilities are welcome at Parkland Community Library. PCL is fully accessible and provides in-house materials and assistive technology by request on a first-come, first-served basis. Ask a tech assistant or reference librarian for assistance. Read more here.
Youth Services
Our top-notch Youth Services department is a center for advancing early literacy. Our talented librarians provide book recommendations, movies, learning tools, and family programs. For assistance, stop by the Barclay Family Children’s Wing.

The LCLC offers families the Share Card, formerly My First Library Card! This card is an early literacy program that helps children build reading and language skills to prepare for kindergarten.

Family Place Library
A member since 2023
Family Place Libraries transform libraries into community centers for early literacy, parent education, and family support. Our network includes more than 500 sites in 32 states. PCL offers free play-style family programs for families to meet local healthcare providers and early childhood development experts.

Our parenting collection includes materials and resources on a wide range of topics to support your role as a parent or caregiver. Topics include pregnancy, developmental milestones, styles of discipline, homeschooling, potty training, and beyond.

Stop by the youth services department for recommendations.
Our teen book selection is located to the left of the main entrance. Browse our manga, comic books, graphic novels, fiction, nonfiction, and DVDs. New YA items are available in the center aisle of the library. Our Tech Center is available to all PCL patrons needing printing and scanning services.

At Parkland Community Library, we aim to provide a welcoming space for all ages. Host a study group at one of our quiet seating areas. Battery backups to charge your devices are available at the workstations.

Your library can provide you with special access and services! We have computer rentals, streaming services, online tutoring, practice tests for school and driving, and much more, all for free.
Support Your Library
PCL is a nonprofit organization that receives funding from the state and donations. Consider making a charitable donation or volunteering your time and talents. Monetary contributions strengthen the library’s ability to serve and empower our community. Donating to us will directly support our general operating fund, which supports our mission.

PCL is looking for adults who are willing to donate just a few hours of their time continuously.

Teen Volunteers
Year-Round Openings
Get professional working experience and community service hours for your resume! We accept mature students, age 13 and older, entering 8th grade in the fall. Teen volunteers are eligible for the Friends Scholarship in Honor of Alice Madden and Norman Dietrich.

The Friends Book Shop
